BIOGRAPHY
Benjamin Apam had his PhD in Statistics with minor in Education Management at the University of the Philippines, Los Banos. He is currently the Ag. Director of Quality Assurance and Academic Planning in the Bolgatanga Technical University (BTU) and teaches Statistical- and Mathematics-related courses in all levels (Diploma, HND, BSc/BTech, and Masters).
Born in a small village (Boya) in the Bawku West District, Benjamin obtained his basic education in this beautiful village until he moved to Nadowli in the Upper West Region to continue his Junior and Senior Secondary Education. Though he was a bit lazy in the reading subjects like “social studies”, he managed to pull through to the University for Development Studies (UDS) where he was modelled into a statistician. Now, he cannot seem to turn his back on data related issues. He got engaged by the then Bolgatanga Polytechnic (Now BTU) in 2009 after his national service with the institution.
The Third Trimester Field Practical Program as was instituted by UDS had had a great influence on his level of thinking about society and it has helped him appreciate the thinking capacity of every individual. Due to the love of statistics and using data to make informed decisions, he is in the process of developing an idea that will soon be translated into a research field (Data Analysis Consult). This idea among others seeks to address the research problems of clients, give guidance to the use of statistical software, as well as help people understand statistical methodology. He looks forward to partnering with you in research.
